Mossberg & Company has invested in new labelling technology with the purchase of an HP6800 Digital Roll Label Press with Delta Spectrum finishing equipment.

Expected to be installed in mid-October, the press will become completely operational by the end of the year and will provide high-volume production.

Mossberg is targeting the needs of demanding brands by offering them high-impact product decoration and packaging, using seven digital ink units coupled with the Mossberg precision colour system.

Mossberg president and CEO James Hillman said: "With this investment, Mossberg will provide solutions to a variety of needs and significantly enhance the value we provide to our customers.

"The HP6800 Digital Roll Label Press, coupled with our technology-based print and marketing solutions, offers a compelling package that supports customers looking for results."

The press also offers application flexibility, which enables the production of a wide range of pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, wrap-around labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons.

New digital technology will help the press to perform short-run custom projects more cost-effectively. Being environmentally friendly is another plus-point, with reduced production waste, energy efficiency and carbon-neutral manufacturing.

"Our customers today are looking for more flexibility and speed to market than ever before."

Mossberg sales and marketing vice-president Rhonda Perry said: "Our customers today are looking for more flexibility and speed to market than ever before.

"Companies want to conduct market testing on their brands, create private labels and provide multiple versions in order to have the best impact in the market.

"They want to print at the last possible minute so they can make decisions based on real-time data and factory need."

The press allows for short-run die-cutting, traditional die-cutting, hot or cold foil embossing and flexographic and screen printing with its delta spectrum finishing system.
