Germany’s Multivac has developed a new tray sealer, G 700, for packing ready meals, snacks, vegetables and fresh-cut products of all types.
Using gas flushing technology, the new G 700 allows manufacturers to pack crumbly or hot-filled foods under modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) conditions.
MAP procedures do not require producers to evacuate packaging trays, and can therefore be used for packing delicate food products.
The machine can pack up to 15 trays in a minute with MAP, while it can pack up to 18 trays when operating without a modified atmosphere.
In addition, the G 700 can operate using a range of tray types, including plastic, aluminium, board and multi-chamber trays.
It can also be used with trays with various shapes and heights up to a maximum of 110mm.
Featuring a precise and reliable tray transport system, the machine is said to have a simple and quick die-changing process.
In order to load the trays, the G 700 can be equipped with Multivac belt systems or drag chain infeed systems, in which suitable de-nesters can be integrated.
The machine has also been equipped with an intuitive user interface to enhance reliability and convenience.
Multivac is planning to unveil its new tray sealer at the upcoming Interpack 2017 event.
