Packaging products manufacturer Nampak has commissioned a new production line in Lagos, Nigeria to produce lids for still water and carbonated soft drinks.
The company previously signed a long-term partnership with Bericap to extend its manufacturing licence to include Nampak Nigeria.
Under the greenfield project, two Netstal 48 cavity injection moulders have been installed at the site located in the Ikeja industrial area of the Lagos state.
The capacity of the injection moulders currently stands at 220 million lids, which will be further raised when additional injection moulders and moulds become operational.
With the commissioning of the new plastic lids line, Nampak is focusing on the local Nigerian market, Coca Cola, Seven-Up, Nestle and SABMiller, and on future exports to Ghana and other neighbouring nations.
The company offers closures including plastic bottle caps, lids and twist caps that are supplied to firms operating in dairy, fruit juice, carbonated soft drinks and the detergents industry.
