Global corrugating board manufacturer Saica Flex has launched its new Monoflex transparent mono-material cover for fully recyclable trays.

Monoflex offers enhanced packaging transparency and brightness, which help customers to have improved visibility while buying sliced products, and single-dose oils and vinegars.

Developed by the research and development team of Saica Flex, the new design features a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) product, which helps maintain and improve the functional and barrier properties of the current packaging.

The fully recyclable Monoflex cover represents the company’s commitment to the circular economy. When used in the heat sealing, the cover also reduces temperature and contributes to a lower energy expenditure.

Monoflex can also be welded to amorphous PET (APET) trays, with or without a high barrier.

The cover has been tested in the heat-sealing facilities of the APET trays manufacturer Klöckner Pentaplast to prove its sealing and the watertight capabilities required for the preservation of the packed product.
