DivvyPack

US-based Sonoco Alloyd has developed a new dispensing package that combines thermoformed technology with a sliding lid.

The new DivvyPack dispensable packaging system also allows convenient storage of unused portions and careful, singular ‘divvying’ of product for multi-count packages. It features a flat lid, clear packaging and a customisable shape and size.

A single product can be easily dispensed from a multi-product package as the lid slides away without opening completely.

Due to the availability of interlocking channels along the sides of the sliding lid and tray, the package can be easily opened and closed using one hand with an audible snap.

"This purpose-driven packaging meets the unique needs of customers in a wide variety of markets."

The package also provides protection to the product inside as it combines easy-open technology with tamper evidence.

The new DivvyPack format is suitable for standard multiple-quantity packaging and also for special cases such as club store packaging and gift-with-purchase promotions.

Sonoco Alloyd marketing specialist Kim Goyke said: "Our newest packaging innovation is the result of intense insight gathering, developmental ideation and market interaction, so we can provide our customers with a differentiated, competitive advantage that will better their brands.

"This purpose-driven packaging meets the unique needs of customers in a wide variety of markets."

Sonoco is set to demonstrate the DivvyPack package at the upcoming Pack Expo 2015 tradeshow to be held in Las Vegas, US, from 28 to 30 September.

Sonoco Alloyd manufactures high-visibility packaging and blister packaging machines for the retail and medical markets, and is part of Sonoco Display and Packaging, a unit of global packaging company Sonoco.
