Dutch firm Novio Packaging Group has announced plans to merge with Scandinavian Packaging in an attempt to expand its footprint in the Scandinavian area.

Novio Packaging Group was recently formed by a group of companies specialised in packaging solutions and the distribution of primary packaging materials.

Danish packaging firm Scandinavian Packaging is to become the latest member of the recently created group and will initially operate under its existing name, though will become Novio Scandinavia from January 2019.

The companies that formed Novio Packaging include international packaging distribution specialists such as Oosterbeek Packaging, Alpha Packaging International, Maer Flexibles, Maer Hong Kong and FehnPolycap.

“Being able to continue the positive development of our company and at the same time have the support of the Novio Packaging Group is a dream come through.”

Scandinavian Packaging COO and partner Hanne Zinck said: “Being able to continue the positive development of our company and at the same time have the support of the Novio Packaging Group is a dream come through.”

The company will continue to pursue its growth and development strategy from its site in Borup, Denmark, with support from Novio Packaging.

The deal will allow Scandinavian Packaging to have access to increased packaging distribution capability across all segments of the market.

Novio Packaging Group directors Marck Jansen and Erik Trum said: “Now that our territorial range also includes Scandinavia, we will be able to achieve even better European coverage.

“The values of Scandinavian Packaging, quality reliability and understanding will without further doubt strengthen our brand.”

Novio Packaging expects the transaction to increase its international efficiency.
