Speciality packaging supplier Comar has invested in a custom facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California, US.
The new 230,000ft² department will facilitate the production of complex finished medical devices and sub-assemblies, integrating injection moulding, blow moulding, high-speed assembly and testing.

Approximately 26,000ft² of the facility has been dedicated for ISO Class 8 Injection Molding and assembly cleanrooms that can be expanded in the future.
The location is ISO 13485-certified, current good manufacturing practice (cGMP)-compliant and registered under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The new facility will feature a full-service mould prototyping lab, as well as dedicated mould sampling and development equipment.
The facility will enable the company to quickly develop products from ideation to full production stage.

The company has already handed over the facility’s drawings and permit applications.
The construction of the facility is expected to begin in the next few months. Production is scheduled to start by the end of the year.
Comar will transfer its employees, equipment and operations from the Rancho Cucamonga and Garden Grove plants into the facility.
Based in Voorhees, New Jersey, US, Comar, supplies speciality packaging, device and components for various sectors, including medical, pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, personal and home care, as well as food and beverage.
The company owns eight strategic manufacturing and distribution branches.
