Expected to increase manufacturing personnel by 8%, the expansion will include the addition of new machinery and more than 14,000ft² of space.
Pelican BioThermal president David Williams said: “Adding single-use shipper production in the US maximises our flexibility in meeting our customers’ diverse needs.
“As our business continues to develop globally with new offices and service centres around the world, we are equally excited to bring additional manufacturing capabilities to Pelican BioThermal’s headquarters in Plymouth.”
The expanded facility will be used to produce the company’s single-use temperature-controlled shippers, including its CoolPall Vertos, Chronos Advance, and Chronos Express solutions.
It will also produce components, including outer corrugate, insulating foam and coolant BRICs.
