The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is set to provide an investment exceeding $1.5m to aid the expansion of REV Copack, a beverage packaging company based in Luzerne County, US.

The expansion is set to more than double the company’s manufacturing capacity, creating at least 132 new full-time jobs while retaining 18 existing positions. The increased output capacity will be achieved through the addition of new production lines.

The new facility, which will involve a $3.1m investment from REV Copack, will add two production lines, bringing the total to at least four production lines for its beverage packaging operation.

The company has outgrown its current Jenkins Township location and is moving to a larger facility to accommodate the expansion.

Pennsylvania’s governor Josh Shapiro stated that the investment will be facilitated by the commonwealth body to support this development.

REV Copack has also received a financial proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development for a $1.5m Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan and a $55,000 WEDnetPA grant for worker training.

Shapiro’s Business PA team, a group of economic development professionals, coordinated the REV Copack expansion project, demonstrating their commitment to supporting businesses in the state.

Shapiro said: “Pennsylvania is the best place in the country for businesses to grow and thrive – and seeing companies like REV Copack deepen their roots here in the commonwealth sends a clear message to other businesses looking to expand or relocate here that Pennsylvania is open for business.

“My administration is committed to making strategic investments, building a skilled workforce, and positioning Pennsylvania as a leader in manufacturing.

“Together, we’re growing an economy that works for everyone – creating more jobs, strengthening our communities, and ensuring a brighter future for all Pennsylvanians.”

Established in Pittston in 2022, REV Copack is a privately owned entity specialising in secondary beverage packaging.
