Australian glass and plastic bottles supplier Plasdene Glass-Pak has expanded its geographic footprint with the acquisition of Silverlock Packaging.

With this investment, Plasdene Glass-Pak will enhance its footprint and performance in South and Western Australian markets.

The combined company will increase Plasdene’s size by more than 50%, making it the largest independent, family-owned packaging distribution business in the country.

"This strategic purchase makes sense."

By operating under Pearson Group Packaging, the merged entity will further enhance the buying power and supply chain capability of Plasdene Glass-Pak.

Plasdene Glass-Pak managing director Ken Pearson said: "We truly are a one-stop-shop for packaging, with our current range exceeding more than 6,000 line items, and over 250 global supply partners.

"With similar business models, many of the same or complementary manufacturers, clients and product range, as well as a like-minded approach to personal service, this strategic purchase makes sense."
