Spanish BOPP film manufacturer Poligal has started construction on a €30m BOPP extrusion line at a new greenfield plant in Poland.

The investment forms part of Poligal’s 2012 to 2016 strategic plan to focus on growth, internationalisation and technology development.

"The investment forms part of Poligal’s 2012 to 2016 strategic plan to focus on growth, internationalisation and technology development."

Initially, the plant will house a five-layer Brückner BOPP extrusion line, which is expected to be fully operational in 2016. Once operational, the line will be capable of producing 40,000tpa of BOPP film.

The extension will improve Poligal’s development of label films and films for speciality applications.

It will also allow Poligal to provide European converters and end-users with European-wide coverage and a full production backup with its existing plants in Spain and Portugal.

Poligal CEO Santiago Font said that the company is eager to improve its geographical coverage while remaining a medium-sized company focused on delivering quality films, service and close cooperation with clients during project development.

In addition, work on a new 4.8m-wide CPP extrusion Reifenhäuser line at Poligal’s Portugal plant is currently underway. This will become fully operational in June.
