US protective packaging materials manufacturer Pregis has signed an agreement to purchase Free-Flow Packaging International (FP International).
Established in 1967, FP International provides a wide range of protective packaging solutions through brands such as the MINI PAK’R, PRO PAK’R and POWER PAK’R and many other protective packaging products.
The company grew its strength from a single-product business to a provider of protective packaging solutions with multinational operations.
Pregis president and CEO Kevin Baudhuin said: “The acquisition of FP International will benefit our combined customer base by providing a robust set of diverse solutions and accelerated product development-most notably to address growing e-commerce shipping requirements.
“This also significantly strengthens Pregis’ geographic position within new international markets, supporting our global growth strategy.
“Additionally, we look forward to welcoming FP’s exceptional professionals to the Pregis team. Our cultural similarities will fuel future growth.”
FP operates five manufacturing facilities, including two in the US, and one each in Germany, France and the Netherlands.
Pregis intends to continue manufacturing operations in these locations.
Expected to be finalised in the coming weeks, the acquisition is conditional upon customary closing conditions and regulatory review.
The transaction represents the sixth acquisition completed by Pregis in the past four years under Olympus Partners ownership.
Other acquisitions include Rex Performance Products, Sharp Packaging, 3M Company’s PolyMask protective films business, Easypack paper-based protective packaging systems and Eagle Film Extruders.
Pregis offers protective packaging materials, equipment systems and surface protection to multiple sectors, including food, pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical devices, agricultural, e-commerce, retail, automotive, and transportation.
