Custom blow moulded packaging supplier Pretium Packaging has acquired plastic bottles manufacturer Intertech.

The acquisition is Pretium’s second strategic acquisition in the past three months.

This is said to be in line with Pretium’s strategy to grow both organically and through selective acquisitions that expand its markets, technologies, and geographic footprint.

Pretium Packaging president and CEO George Abd said: "The acquisition of Intertech gives Pretium our first location in North Carolina and a great team that will enable us to leverage that location to better serve customers in the region.

"We now have a stronger platform to achieve meaningful growth with existing customer relationships and new customer opportunities."

Pretium Packaging was acquired by Genstar Capital in 2014.

"The acquisition of Intertech gives Pretium its first location in North Carolina and a great team that will enable the firm to leverage that location to better serve customers in the region."

Genstar Capital principal David Golde said: "Intertech represents a highly strategic acquisition for Pretium, which we are excited to be supporting.

"As part of our growth strategy with Pretium, we continue to have a strong interest in additional acquisitions that help Pretium better serve its existing customers and gain new customers."

Intertech was founded in 1974. It operates a manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina.
