Packaging machinery solutions provider ProMach has acquired Code Tech, a US-based maker of inkjet marking and coding solutions, for an undisclosed sum.
The addition of Code Tech is expected to expand ProMach’s thermal inkjet (TIJ) solutions portfolio.
Based in Princeton, New Jersey, Code Tech serves the pharmaceutical, medical device, food and beverage, through its date coding, track and trace, serialisation, and anti-counterfeiting solutions.
Code Tech also offers water and solvent-based inks powered by HP inkjet technology, coding and printing systems as well as washdown, IP65-rated products for wet and other manufacturing environments.
ProMach labelling and coding business line president Alan Shipman said: “ProMach already had one of the most robust lineups of labelling and coding solutions in the marketplace with highly regarded product brands, including ID Technology, EPI, Greydon, PE Labellers, Packlab, Axon, NJM, and WLS.
“With the addition of Code Tech’s solutions for cartons, cases, films, and containers, our coding portfolio and thermal inkjet lineup is now second to none in the industry.”
Code Tech team, including sales, engineering, and customer service staff will join the labelling and coding team of ProMach.
ProMach will retain Code Tech CEO Michael Shaw and chief operating officer Dina Lewisohn Shaw, who will lead the development of its thermal inkjet solutions.
Shaw added: “This will immediately help us continue our rapid expansion into the marketplace as we leverage the power of the vast ProMach sales team to bring our cutting-edge TIJ technology to customers throughout North America and Latin America.”
