UK-based Qualvis Print & Packaging has installed two digital packaging lines, including a Xerox iGen 4 sheet-fed digital printer, and an iGen5 automated line.
Acquired with a £2m investment, both digital packaging lines were provided by Advanced Business Equipment.
The new five-colour iGen5 press features CMYK colour model, while an additional 5th station of orange, blue or green will offer a larger gamut of Pantone colours, and deliver 2400dpi x 2400dpi resolution.
Featuring inline Tresu Pinta coating units and a KAMA DC 76 cut and crease line, both presses can print and produce sheets with a maximum size of 364mm x 660mm.
Qualvis Print & Packaging managing director Jason Short said: "We spent 18 months researching the best match for our needs and the two Xerox digital presses are ideal.
“As a leading print and packaging business we are seeing diminishing run lengths and increasing demand for innovation from our customers, including personalisation and localisation.

Suitable for use in short-run projects, the newly added solutions are designed to provide personalised printing, prototyping and market testing capabilities.
The solutions will also help to reduce waste and storage costs, as well as allow Qualvis to provide a host of software, e-commerce and technology solutions to its customers.
In July 2016, Qualvis bought a KBA Rapida 106 seven-colour press, which will be installed at its production site by March.
