Finnish film supplier Rani Plast intends to expand its blown film production with a new line of Davis-Standard blown film die.
The firm has planned the installation for early 2016 at its Terjarv facility, which will house the blown film die until the day after commissioning.
The line has been customised with a 2.3m seven-layer Centrex IBC die, which will support both high-barrier agriculture films, and non-barrier conventional PE-based films production for Rani Plast.
The die and the tower for the new equipment will be capable of generating a bubble of up to 22m, unfolded at high output rates with a dual-lip, automatic profile control air ring.
The line has also been equipped with seven Davis-Standard MAC extruders, which are fitted with DSB screws and continuous screen changers to ensure a high-quality melt at cool temperatures.
The tower equipment also includes multiple bubble cages, and Davis-Standard collapsing and gusseting equipment.

By GlobalDataRani Plast managing director Mikael Ahlback said: "Davis-Standard’s equipment has performed well for us, which is why we chose them for this blown film line.
"This line will be installed at our facility in Terjarv, Finland. It will support the production of high barrier and non-barrier film structures ranging in thickness from 30 to 200 microns.
"The die design uses concepts that will allow us to optimise the amount of high-cost EVOH resin used in our barrier film formulation."
