Rapak Europe has commercially launched a new Bag-in-Box model fitted with a tamper-evident screwcap adapter system in Germany.

Rapa’s sister company Worldwide Dispensers developed the new adapter with an external tamper-evident ring and released it last November.

The packaging solution has been used by an undisclosed German dairy company, marking its first commercial use.

“The tamper-evident screwcap adapter enables the product to be dispensed directly from Bag-in-Box through a pump.”

A key feature of the adapter includes visibility of the ring from all angles, enabling direct permanent evidence of initial opening.

The adapter offers improved tightness and reduced chances of leakage, thereby ensuring product safety and integrity.

The adapter is ideal for a range of glands and can connect to quick-serve taps, coupling adapters, piercing membranes and pump systems.

With a perforation on the top of the box, the tamper-evident screwcap adapter enables the product to be dispensed directly from Bag-in-Box through a pump.

The adapter can be used with various Bag-in-Box products, including liquid egg, sauces, dairy, edible oil, home and personal care liquids.

Rapak noted that the tamper-evident ring present in other Bag-in-Box screw cap adapters available in the market gets easily separated from the system.

The Rapak screwcap adapter’s ring is retained on the fitment, preventing product contamination.

Rapak Europe is a business unit of DS Smith, Plastics Division.
