Swedish contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) Recipharm is planning to expand its blow fill seal (BFS) capacity at its site in Kaysersberg, with an investment of €18m.
The French sterile facility is specialised in blow fill seal technology for sterile liquids.
As part of the investment plan, the company will install a new blow fill seal high-speed filling and packaging line, increasing the total number to eight. To increase capacity by 50%, Recipharm plans to add a further three filling lines over the coming years.
Recipharm expects the new lines to double the size of its operations from 2,000m2 to 4,150m2.
The company’s Kaysersberg site general manager Yves Buelens said: "The increased capacity will position us well for future growth and allow us to take on projects from new customers more swiftly.
"With the site’s pharma heritage, we are ideally placed to meet the highest quality and regulatory requirements and are committed to investing in the facility to ensure we can continue to deliver the best possible service."
