By GlobalDataThe investment is intended to support Repeats’ strategy in building a pan-European plastic recycling platform.
The exact value of the investment has not been disclosed.
Repeats CEO Greg Rung said: “Anviplas has an outstanding reputation in the industry as a leading LDPE recycler in Spain.
“We are thrilled to have Aleix Vintró and the Anviplas team as part of the Repeats platform and look forward to building upon their success to date.
“We see significant opportunity for Anviplas to continue to penetrate the Spanish recycled LDPE market while expanding their footprint to service feedstock supplies from Southern France.”
Following the investment, Anviplas’ current leader Aleix Vintró will lead the company’s Spanish operations, as well as its growth plan.
Under Repeats, the company intends to increase its production capacity almost twofold to meet growing demand for recycled LDPE in Europe.
Vintró said: “We are excited to partner with Repeats and Ara to further expand our operations and geographic reach.
“We share Repeats’ ambition to become the largest independent LDPE recycler in Europe and view our efforts as mission-critical to establish a circular solution for the growing plastic waste problem in Europe.”
The investment comes a month after Repeats revealed plans to create a pan-European plastic recycling platform to produce recycled LDPE.
The platform is intended to address supply shortages and increase Europe’s LDPE recycling capacity while helping countries achieve industry sustainability and net-zero targets.
It will primarily serve heavily populated European markets with ‘underserved’ LDPE recycling capacities.
Repeats is a portfolio company of Ara Partners, a private equity firm that specialises in industrial decarbonisation investments.
