Return-It has announced the opening of a new ‘Express & GO’ beverage container recycling station in Peachland, British Columbia, Canada.

Located at 4407 2nd Street in Peachland, the drop-off station will provide convenient and contactless service to the customers recycling their refundable beverage containers.

The new Express & GO depot uses solar energy to operate and is placed within a 20ft brightly coloured, easy-to-use and repurposed shipping container.

Prior to Peachland, the Express & GO stations by Return-It have been installed in Thompson-Okanagan region’s Penticton, Kelowna and Keremeos.

Peachland is the fourth addition to this region. The new station is also a new addition to the existing network of 15 Express & GO installations across British Columbia.

The latest expansion of the recycling stations in Peachland will further strengthen Return-It’s wider objective to ‘foster a world where nothing is waste’.

It will allow Peachland residents to easily return their beverage cans without the need to travel and visit nearby recycling depots in Kelowna.

Return-It CEO and president Cindy Coutts said: “At Return-It, our mission is to make recycling as simple and convenient as possible for British Columbians.

“We are excited to partner with the town of Peachland and install the Express & GO station as another step towards achieving that goal.

“By providing an accessible solution for recycling beverage containers, we are empowering Peachland residents to take action and make a positive impact on the environment.”

In order to recycle their empty cans, interested consumers are required to register a free account at express.return-it.ca, which makes them eligible to drop off their used containers, packed inside a clear, sealed bag with a labelled tag, at the nearby station.

After recycling their cans, the respective individual will receive a refund directly into their Express account within ten working days.

People can opt for receiving the amount via cheque, Interac e-Transfer or they can choose to donate it to local community groups or charitable organisations.
