TriMas subsidiary Rieke Packaging Systems has designed a new lid and funnel combination to allow easy pouring of fuel additives and other chemicals from tin cans.
Featuring a push-and-turn child-resistant operation, Rieke’s new 32mm REL opening is also senior friendly, ensuring easy access for all adults.
The funnel is attached to the rim of the container opening and is screwed into place once the lid is removed, allowing users to easily put additives into the fuel tank with no danger of spillages.
The lid and funnel are injection moulded in polyethylene, and the lid incorporates an aluminium barrier to provide improved protection for the product and to avoid evaporation of the contents.
The funnel has been designed in such a way that it fits closely against the container and increases on-shelf space. According to Rieke, its flexibility ensures a reliable leak-free performance in various applications.
The ISO 8317-certified lid is offered in red or white, and can also be specified in different optional colours to suit products and branding requirements.
Rieke will exhibit the new lid and funnel combination at Interpack 2014 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
