British packaging company RPC has created an innovative dispenser for French company Lesieur’s new sauce range with an aim to reduce food waste.
Known as Penguin, the new dispenser is used to pack Lesieur’s range of seven food service sauces.
Penguin’s blow moulded top has been produced by RPC Promens, while the injection moulded base is made by RPC Superfos.
Furthermore, each of the refillable dispensers can contain around 5l of sauce.
Lesieur packaging research and innovation senior engineer VirginieRecoura said: “The new dispenser from RPC Promens and RPC Superfos makes it easier to exploit its content.
“Today our customers – fast food restaurants, canteens etc – buy the usual amount of sauce at the usual price, but through the new dispenser they actually get up to 16% more of our product thanks to its improved emptying. This means costs savings for our customers and, on a general note, significantly less food waste.”
