RR Donnelley has announced the acquisition of Ohio-based StratusGroup to strengthen its position in label and paperboard packaging segments in the US.
StratusGroup is a manufacturer of custom pressure sensitive labels and paperboard packaging products for health and beauty, food, beverage and other segments.

With the acquisition, RR Donnelley aims to meet the increasing demand of paperboard products for folding carton, insert, multi-pack and tray as well as other applications.
The the cost of the deal has not been disclosed.
In September 2011, the company also acquired Genesis Packaging & Design, a service provider of custom packaging.
RR Donnelley deals globally in packaging and labelling solutions to areas that include medical products, electronics, food and beverage, as well as industrial products.
