Food service packaging manufacturer Sabert Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire thermoformed plastic hinged food containers manufacturer Kalman Packaging.
Financial details of the deal have not been divulged.
The acquisition will help Sabert to expand into the bakery and supermarket segments.
Sabert claimed that as the food industry continues to grow, expand and differentiate, there is an opportunity for it to provide customers with a broad range of food packaging products and solutions.
One area it expects to grow across several channels is bakery foods, in order to provide a more complete packaging solution.

Established in 1983, Sabert is a manufacturer of food packaging products and solutions. The New Jersey-based company has grown to design, manufacture and distribute a wide range of packaging solutions for food distributors, restaurants, caterers, supermarkets, national food chains.
Sabert ‘s North American facilities are located in New Jersey, California and Kentucky. The company also owns manufacturing facilities in Belgium and Zhongshan, China.
