US-based flexible packaging solutions provider Scholle IPN has strengthened its global footprint by acquiring Spanish packaging firm Bossar.
Bossar supplies flexible horizontal form-fill-seal equipment for manufacturing flexible packaging products, including spouted pouches, zippered pouches and sachets.
The combined business will offer sustainable solutions for the global flexible packaging market, operating across Europe, Russia, China, India, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Canada and the US.
Following the transaction, Scholle IPN will keep the Bossar brand and continue to operate from Bossar’s headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, as well as its manufacturing facility in India.
The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Scholle IPN president and CEO Ross Bushnell said: “This is an important next step in our continued evolution towards becoming a truly indispensable provider of total packaging solutions to our customers around the world.
“The Scholle IPN name has long been synonymous with enabling the world’s leading brands to deliver their products by the most effective, sustainable means possible. As the packaging industry continues to undergo sweeping changes with respect to our role in a circular economy, it’s only appropriate that our brand experience and product portfolio reflect that shift.
“As a result, our marketing team, both in the US and Europe, spent countless hours to ensure that our visual brand aligns with our operational philosophy and vision.”
Scholle IPN EMEA managing director and Bossar CEO Jeroen van der Meer said: “By combining our companies, we are able to truly focus our development activity to provide leading-edge technologies that allow us to manufacture a complete range of sustainable packaging solutions for our customers.”
In June, Scholle IPN announced a major rebranding in line with its focused efforts on sustainable packaging.
