Schreiner MediPharm is set to unveil the Smart Vial Kit packaging solution next month at the Pharmapack 2019 in Paris, France.
The kit is designed to enable electronic tracking of medication dispensed to patients.
It features a multi-vial box with continuous number designated perforated areas corresponding to individual compartments.
When a vial from a compartment is taken out, it is tracked in real-time through printed electronic provision integration.
The system generates all data in real-time, including exact removal time, the specific compartment from which the vial was removed, as well as the respective medication.
All data is automatically stored in the packaging and can be retrieved through a smartphone app using Near Field Communication (NFC) or Bluetooth.
