Food and product packaging solutions and services provider Sealed Air is to use technology solutions firm PTC’s ThingWorx industrial innovation platform to improve operational efficiency across its entire value chain.
Sealed Air provides services to multiple end markets, including food and beverage processing, food service, retail, healthcare and industrial, commercial and consumer applications.

The company offers extended shelf life and enhanced productivity to food servicing and food-processing industries.
ThingWorx will serve as the information hub across the company’s enterprise, connecting plant assets through the ThingWorx Industrial Connectivity.
It will also allow Sealed Air to monitor performance indicators, such as machine efficiency and capacity potential across individual lines and entire plants.

The ThingWorx platform can also assist in the deployment of applications responsible for monitoring, managing and controlling connected devices.
Other services offered by the platform include remote data collection from connected devices, independent and secure connectivity between devices and device/sensor management and integration with third-party systems.
ThingWorx Industrial Connectivity further allows firms to gain value from the Industrial Internet of Things by connecting disparate automation devices and software applications.
Users will have access to an interface provided by the platform to connect, manage, monitor, and control diverse automation devices and software applications.
Sealed Air will leverage dashboards to gain insight into business processes and technical functions, as well as downstream improvement opportunities.
