By GlobalDataThe certification covers two key areas: the Partial Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of the company’s inks, coatings, and varnishes, and its Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF).
The PCF provides a detailed breakdown of carbon emissions associated with each product, from raw material extraction to delivery to the customer.
The CCF, on the other hand, encompasses the overall carbon emissions of Siegwerk’s operations, including its supply chain.
“Our commitment to environmental responsibility is unwavering,” said Sarah Mah, senior global sustainability manager at Siegwerk.
“This ISO certification validates our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, deliver utmost transparency to our value chain partners and drive sustainable practices across our operations.”
Siegwerk has set ambitious sustainability goals, including achieving carbon neutrality in its own operations by 2025 and reducing scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030.
The company is investing in research and development to develop more sustainable products and processes and said it is working closely with its suppliers to reduce emissions throughout its supply chain.
The certification process involved a comprehensive audit of Siegwerk’s carbon data and management systems.
TÜV SÜD assessed the company’s compliance with ISO standards, including those related to carbon footprint calculation and reporting.
By providing transparent carbon data, Siegwerk is empowering its customers to make informed decisions about the environmental impact of their packaging choices.
