South Korean company Songwon has commissioned a second thermoplastic urethane (TPU) production line, which is set to become operational this quarter.
The new production line will enable the company to produce TPU extrusion grades for wire, cable, film and sheet applications.
Songwon noted that its plant located in Suwon, South Korea is planned to be extended to increase the production of TPU from the existing 7,000mt to 12,000mt annually.
Songwon focuses on manufacturing TPUs, ink binders and adhesives for flexible packaging laminates with sales organisations in Asia, Europe, and North America.
At present, the company is planning to strengthen its global business by offering advanced and customised urethane products.

Blown films, manufactured using Songstomer P-8185 AI offer increased resistance to abrasion, oil, fuel, solvents and high temperatures.
Songwon manufactures various specialty chemicals and caters to multiple industries such as packaging, automotive, building and construction, agriculture, textiles, electric and electronic industries.
