Specright, a specification management platform, has announced its collaboration with software-as-a-service company Trustwell to support the end-to-end digitisation of nutritional labelling for food.
Specright’s software allows its customers to control their supply chain data while increasing profitability and driving sustainability simultaneously.
The company caters to the needs of customers across various industries, including food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, retail, and other sectors.
As part of this joint effort, Specright’s key specification data points will automatically be sent to Trustwell’s Genesis Foods product for calculating nutritional values and creating Nutrition Fact Panels.
This could help eliminate the chances of duplicate data entries of ingredients and formulas between systems.
Specright founder and CEO Matthew Wright said: “With increasing FDA [Food and Drug Administration] regulation and high frequency of product change and reformulations, an end-to-end digital solution for food labelling is critical.

By GlobalData“Our partnership with Trustwell will enable our customers to get the best-of-breed solution for Specification Data Management, tightly integrated with their Genesis Foods product, which is the industry standard for nutritional analysis and label development.”
Specright and Trustwell Genesis Foods’ integration will further allow food companies to access all key ingredients, formulas, and product information along with nutritional analysis data and other critical documents in one place.
Associated food companies can also manage the packaging artwork, structures, and labels of the products via a single source, enabling them to minimise the risk of mislabelling.
The companies can then ensure that their packaging, product development, and compliance teams have access to this latest information.
Trustwell CEO Stephen Bruce said: “At Trustwell, we’re on a mission to change the food industry, and partnering with like-minded companies like Specright enables us to expand upon our leading digital solutions for our customers.
“This will empower food companies to confidently build new products and improve speed to market using tech-based, seamless solutions that enable collaborative formulation and workflow processes across packaging and supplier data while ensuring regulatory compliance, transparency and food safety.”
