Sweden-based sustainable packaging solution provider BillerudKorsnäs has placed an order with Voith for a new XcelLine board machine.

To be installed at BillerudKorsnäs’ site in Gruvön, Sweden, the solution has an annual production capacity of 550,000t.

Offering a speed of 1,200m per minute, the machine is designed to produce liquid packaging, carton and food service boards, as well as white kraft liner.

The new XcelLine machine is expected to be commissioned by early 2019.

Voith will also provide a Duo DII hybrid former system and a Tandem NipcoFlex shoe press with a SolarPress roll cover and drying section.

Furthermore, multiple coating and calendaring stations and a VariFlex L winding unit will be delivered.

"OnEfficiency Forming enables dewatering, retention and flocculation, while the OnCare package ensures efficient maintenance of the entire paper machine. "

The delivery also includes a Voith Papermaking 4.0 digital solution, which features OnEfficiency Forming and OnCare, offering full online control of all process data of the production line.

OnEfficiency Forming enables dewatering, retention and flocculation, while the OnCare package ensures efficient maintenance of the entire paper machine.

In addition, Voith will provide training for the operators and the maintenance teams of BillerudKorsnäs.

In July, the company announced that it had installed two new kraft liner paper machines at Sun Paper’s site in Zoucheng, China.

The machines have an annual production capacity of 800,000t.
