Thermal packaging company TemperPack has opened a new facility on Carolina Avenue in North Richmond, US, as part of a plan to expand its operations in the region.

The move will give TemperPack a new production facility with an area that is four times larger than the previous one.

The company intends to use such a facility to enhance production throughput and meet the growing business demand as the summer season approaches. TemperPack is also set to increase its daily workforce by more than 60%.

The expanded facility will enable the company to make necessary changes to logistical workflows within the facility in order to maximise output.

“Our team takes pride in designing state-of-the-art production facilities that reflect our company’s strong commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.”

TemperPack chief technical officer Charles Vincent said: “Our team takes pride in designing state-of-the-art production facilities that reflect our company’s strong commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.

“The Carolina Avenue facility, equipped with an optimised plant layout and production workflow, is geared towards supporting the next phase of growth of TemperPack.”

The facility is part of the company’s plan to shift towards a large-scale manufacturing operation by bringing more of the supply chain in-house in a bid to become a fully integrated firm.

TemperPack expects that the move will create opportunities for growth and delivery of improved insulating products to clients at a greater scale.

Established in 2015, the company offers custom solutions for clients in the perishable food and life sciences industries.
