Global adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product manufacturer tesa has officially received EcoVadis Gold status for its implementation of various sustainability efforts across its business.

This new milestone has further placed the solutions provider among the top 2% of companies within the industry to receive this status.

EcoVadis is an independent assessment platform that evaluates and measures the sustainability performance of various companies and highlights a diverse range of aspects, including environmental management, responsible procurement, as well human rights encompassing ethical labour practices.

Once these results are recorded, EcoVadis’ platform provides allocated points that allow the associated company to officially document its sustainability measures and therefore further strengthen its position among its business partners and customers.

tesa CEO Norman Goldberg said: “Sustainability has been one of our most important strategic goals for several years now. That’s why we are all the more pleased to have been awarded EcoVadis Gold status.

“Achieving greater sustainability based on scientific findings and innovative solutions is an important guiding principle for tesa. A rating from EcoVadis underscores that we are on the right track with our strategy, but still need to keep working to tackle the defined goals of our sustainability agenda.”

The company said sustainability is a crucial part of its corporate strategy and it follows a science-based approach to work towards its goals.

Currently, tesa is working with more than 600 scientists, engineers, and product developers from across the globe to establish innovative sustainable products and processes.

It is also closely monitoring the activities of its suppliers and aims to focus more on expanding its supply chain transparency.
