Rigid packaging firm TricorBraun has redesigned the packaging for hardwood floor care and maintenance firm Bona’s hard floor surface cleaning products for aligned aesthetics and improved functionality.
The redesign includes an ‘anti-glug’ feature and an ergonomic handle to help improve product refill experience for consumers.
As part of the ‘anti-glug’ design, a small hole was incorporated in the neck of the bottle to allow air into the bottle, creating a smoother pour.
TricorBraun also redesigned the handle angle in order to improve functionality.
Bona retail product management director Susan Stern said: “Our goal was to maintain and enhance the visual appeal of the products while also improve functionality and enhance the overall consumer experience.
“Our long-standing partnership with the team at TricorBraun provided us with the ideal opportunity to accomplish our goal.”
TricorBraun redesigned Bona’s trigger spray bottles in the product line.
TricorBraun’s graphic design manager and Bona’s marketing team also collaborated to design Bona’s two-sided label panel. They adjusted the taper of the bottle to accommodate the label, creating a three-sided label panel.
TricorBraun packaging consultant Renee Ribera said: “A custom solution was the ideal way to address all of Bona’s requirements while also delivering on consumer preferences for a comfortable grip and an easy, no-mess pour.
“The project was turnkey from graphic design and industrial design to engineering, prototyping, mould development and commercialisation.”
The redesigned refill line of Bona’s packaging is expected to be launched by the beginning of the second quarter of this year.
