India-based Uflex has developed a new pouch to pack Paras Dairy’s clarified butter products in the country.

The company's Profile Pouch for Liquids with a Sonically Sealed Spout was developed at its packaging plant in Noida, India.

The pouch is equipped with a tamper locked spout and a 3D holographic stamp to enable easier pouring.

"We also plan to supply this packaging solution to the overseas market in the times to come."

Uflex packaging and new product development joint-president Jeevaraj Pillai said: “This first of its kind Profile Pouch with Sonically Sealed Spout offered to Paras Dairy for packing its Desi Ghee (clarified butter) is currently in the process of reaching the market.

“Talks are on with some of the popular F&B companies of India for offering similar customised packaging solutions for juices, drinks, milk and dairy products.

“Structural alterations to the laminate (depending upon the barrier properties required by the product to be packed) are quite possible. We also plan to supply this packaging solution to the overseas market in the times to come.”

The laminate used in the pouch features a three-ply structure comprising isotropic polyethylene terephthalate (PET), isotropic PET and co-ex nylon polyethylene (PE).

The transparent polyester layers help the pouch withstand harsh supply chain conditions, while the co-ex nylon PE provides sealant layers to the laminate.

While developing the pouch, Uflex also manufactured a pick-fill & seal (PFS) machine to fill and seal the product in the pouch.
