UK-based rigid design and engineering company RPC Group is planning to purchase ESE World from Stirling Square Capital Partners for €262.5m.

To be funded through an existing debt facility, the acquisition would strengthen RPC’s materials handling business. It will also fulfill the company's Vision 2020 agenda enabling it to enter into the polymer consuming segment in Europe.

RPC Group's CEO Pim Vervaat said: "The acquisition of ESE provides yet another good opportunity for RPC to expand its product offering with a quality growth platform in Europe.

Subject to customary adjustments, the acquisition is scheduled to be completed by Q1 of next year. ESE currently provides temporary waste storage solutions to various municipalities and private waste service providers across Europe. The company operates one manufacturing facility each in Germany and France, as well as one research and development (R&D) centre in Germany.
