France-based flexible packaging group UNI Packaging has produced digitally printed bags for Bensdorp’s new Barista range of cocoa and chocolate drink powders.
Bensdorp is a part of chocolate products maker Barry Callebaut’s B2B beverage division, Barry Callebaut Beverages UK.
The new Barista range offers three different drink powders packed in a 750g vertical form filled seal, 3-ply laminated stand-up bag.
UNI Packaging used its Digiflex technology to produce the bags, which were launched at this year’s Caffè Culture show in London, UK.
UNI Packaging UK managing director Rod Entwistle said: “The versatility of digital is an attraction for brands. Increased synergies between marketing and packaging departments within businesses is made possible by the capabilities of digital, where the on-pack content, however variable, does not require compromise on either side.
“As with the Bensdorp Barista single-origin range, digital can be leveraged to deliver packaging printing requirements in a number of ways, including product launches, emergencies such as delays, or to support a conventional process.”
In January, UNI Packaging agreed to merge thermo-shrinkable sleeves manufacturer Serre’s expertise and technology with its existing operation.
With the deal, the company aims to expand its products portfolio and improve its position in the thermo-shrinkable sleeves market.
