UPM Raflatac has expanded its North American operations with the opening of a new distribution terminal in Ajax, Ontario, within the Greater Toronto Area of Canada.

The facility, spanning 30,000ft², is set to enhance service capabilities for Eastern Canadian customers and joins an established network of three factories and two other terminals serving North America.

The Toronto terminal is equipped with advanced slitting and material handling technology.

The facility boasts a substantial inventory that is ready for slitting and shipping, offering customers increased flexibility, customisation options, and improved order efficiency.

UPM Raflatac’s strategic expansion of its terminal network aims to mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring ample warehousing capacity.

The Toronto facility commenced initial customer shipments on 2 October, with plans to fully ramp up production by the end of 2024.
