Finnish pressure-sensitive label materials supplier UPM Raflatac has launched two new products in order to expand its PP Lite range of labelling solutions for the European market.

The products are the clear-on-clear PP FTC Lite and the PP Solid White FTC Lite.

The PP Lite range, made from lightweight, eco-designed face materials, adhesives, and backing materials, reportedly helps brands meet their sustainability targets.

UPM Raflatac EMEIA films segment manager Päivi Knihti said: “Our PP Lite range of labelling solutions has been welcomed by customers, helping brand owners achieve their sustainability targets and differentiate from the competition, while also increasing efficiency and productivity.

“The addition of clear-on-clear PP FTC Lite and PP Solid White FTC Lite to the range provides even more options for brands to make a more sustainable choice.”

A lighter face material, a lower coat-weight adhesive and a lighter backing make products in the PP Lite range lightweight overall.

“Our range of labelling solutions has been welcomed by customers.”

The packaging also optimises the use of raw material and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption, as well as waste.

According to the company, the PP Lite range also allows brand owners to enhance productivity across the value chain.

PP Solid White FTC Lite is a non-pearlescent, solid white PP film that can be combined with R704 adhesive and PET Lite liner to achieve a no-label look, as well as clean performance in converting and dispensing.

The clean PP film offers a bright white base colour with dependable performance.

UPM Raflatac noted that both films are suitable for multi-purpose labelling applications on smooth, rigid containers.

PP Solid White FTC Lite can also be used for multilayer and peel-and-read applications.
