US-based healthcare packaging provider Nelipak has acquired thermoformed rigid packaging producer Computer Designs for an undisclosed sum.

The deal has enabled Nelipak to expand its presence in the healthcare thermoformed packaging markets in North America, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and other Caribbean regions.

With the completion of the deal, Computer Designs' current workforce has been transferred to Nelipak.

Furthermore, Computer Designs will now operate under the brand name Nelipak Healthcare Packaging.

With manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Arizona, and Puerto Rico, US, Computer Designs currently serves various medical device and pharmaceutical companies across the US and Latin America.

The company produces trays, clamshells, and blisters and expects to further develop its thermoformed packaging products and services under the Nelipak Healthcare Packaging brand.

In July 2016, the company acquired Sonoco Products Company subsidiary TegrantAlloyd Brands of Puerto Rico (TABPR).

TABPR produces thermoformed rigid packaging mainly for the medical device and pharmaceutical companies in Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.

The company currently operates under the brand name of Nelipak Healthcare Packaging.
