US-based Shurtape Technologies has purchased specialty adhesive coated products manufacturer Syntac Coated Products for an undisclosed sum.
With the deal, around 50 employees of Syntac will be joining Shurtape.
Syntac will also be rebranded as Shurtape Specialty Coating and will continue to operate at its 60,000ft² facility in New Hartford, Connecticut, along with a new 23,000ft² facility in Sarasota, Florida, US.
The deal will enable both companies to provide various products, such as cloth, duct, masking, paper, packaging, foil, film, double-coated and transfer tapes, as well as packaging dispensers and equipment for automated and manual case sealing applications.
Shurtape Technologies CEO Stephen Shuford said: “The combination of Shurtape and Syntac enhances our ability to support our customers through expanded research and development capacity, broadened production capabilities and global distribution.
“We are excited about the future and look forward to the growth that this merger makes possible for ourselves and for our valued customers.”
Formed in 2013, the family owned company currently provides tape solutions for the packaging, construction, industrial, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), arts and entertainment, and transport sectors.
Shurtape also supplies high-performance industrial adhesives for the automotive, medical, construction and graphic arts sectors.
