US-based Tank Garage Winery has introduced ‘Chrome Dreams’, a 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend in a chromed-glass bottle.

The company has worked for more than a year on the new bottle with a packaging manufacturer to hone the chroming process.

The bottle features a mirrored surface and extruded wing-wheeled emblem inspired by American vintage cars and metalwork.

All clear-embossed resin seals are imported from Italy.

“From the wine to packaging, the entire experience is designed to create a sense of marvel.”

Tank Garage Winery co-founder James Harder said: “We wanted to go back to a time when cars weren't just cars, but artful vessels of freedom, carrying the American dream westward across Route 66.

“Classic cars were a direct reflection of our greatest hopes and dreams, we were inspired to bring that spirit of aspiration back with Chrome Dreams.

“From the wine to packaging, the entire experience is designed to create a sense of marvel.”

The limited edition Napa Valley red wine comprises 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petite Sirah with layers of vanilla and caramel, along with hints of bay leaf and star anise in the background.

The company has produced nearly 500 cases of the limited edition ‘Chrome Dreams’ that will be available exclusively at the Tank Garage Winery's service station in Calistoga.

Chrome Dreams has been priced at $75 a bottle.
