Packaging technology company Valmet has secured a contract to supply quality control system for China-based Lamipak (Kunshan)’s flexographic printing machine.
The contract involves the supply of Valmet IQ quality control system which is designed to solve board cracking issues.

By GlobalDataValmet will deliver Valmet IQ Converting Scanner featuring single-sided IR Moisture measurement, IQ Multipoint Moisture measurement system and IQ Moisturizer water-spray system.
The firm said that the flexographic printing process will result in better quality of the printed board due to the online data, water-spray system and advanced control technology.
Lamipak production manager Alan Chen said: “Valmet has developed its advanced and innovative technology further to be able to improve flexographic printing process as well.
“We are confident that Valmet’s expertise will also help us to improve our efficiency so that we are able to stay ahead of our competitors and reduce environmental impact. We see this as a wise investment.”
The company plans to make the delivery in the first quarter of next year.
Valmet China Automation business line sales manager Zhou Liang said: “We are very happy to provide Valmet IQ quality management solutions to Lamipak. Our advanced quality control system will bring Lamipak’s production efficiency to a new level.”
Recently, Valmet was selected to deliver an oxygen delignification system, including additional Valmet TwinRoll presses to Arkhangelsk’s pulp and paper mill in Russia.
Earlier this month, Finland-based paper and pulp company Metsä Board selected the company to increase folding boxboard production capacity and to boost efficiency and environmental performance.
The contract will increase the BM 1 board machine’s overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and annual folding boxboard (FBB) capacity by 200,000t.
