Finland-based Valmet has launched the new Valmet IQ Converting Scanner, which provides corrugated board manufacturers with a more economical way to measure liner moisture levels.
Featuring new sensor support technology, the scanner can be equipped with different process locations.
Valmet automation business manager Mikko Talonen said: “IQ Converting Scanner offers corrugated board manufacturers a more economical way to measure liner moisture levels. It enables the use of Valmet IQ CD/MD controls in corrugators, resulting in higher quality, as well as improved productivity.”
Adding to the company’s quality management control concept for corrugators and other board converting machines, Valmet IQ Converting Scanner allows direct moisture measurements to be positioned in an optimum process location from a quality and performance point of view.
The new scanner with online moisture measurement allows the use of both machine and cross-direction controls in converting machines.
According to the company, the control solutions improve and stabilise the end-product quality, decrease the amount of broke and enable operators to concentrate on quality management and production optimisation.
