Global process technologies developer Valmet has secured a contract to supply a moisturiser system to Schumacher Poledno's corrugated line in Bukowiec, Poland.
The Valmet IQ Moisturiser, which is scheduled to start operations from next month, consists of two beams that will enable the mill to enhance corrugated board quality and reduce production losses.
Schumacher Poledno maintenance manager Slawomir Kubinski said: “We had good experience with re-moisturising high-grammage five-ply boards with another device.
“However, the patented nozzles of the Valmet IQ Moisturiser provide a fine water mist instead of a water jet onto the board and thus offer better controllability.
“We can now use the device for all board grades without having the negative impact of water stripes.”
Last year, the Valmet moisturiser beams underwent successful trials on Schumacher Poledno’s 2.8m-wide production line.
