Global packaging solutions provider Weener Plastics has signed a managed SD-WAN agreement with Orange Business Services to support its expansion across the globe.

Flexible SD-WAN is a fully automated, intelligent network designed to offer on-demand virtualised services. It is centrally developed for end-to-end performance and control.

As part of the five-year deal, Weener Plastics will introduce Flexible SD-WAN across 24 of its sites in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Introduction of the service is expected to increase agility and flexibility, as well as improve internal communication at the sites.

In order to support its future growth, Weener Plastics intends to gain access to cloud-based applications, including Office 365 and ERP software.

The company said it also requires a managed solution to enable its staff to focus on their core manufacturing business.
