Luxury hotel amenities provider William Roam has decided to discontinue single-use plastic packaging from its new products in an effort to reduce its environmental footprint.
The company has made the decision due to the increasing demand for alternative solutions to single-use plastics within the hotel amenity market.
According to the company, the hospitality industry generates about 440 billion pounds of solid waste annually.
As part of the commitment, William Roam is planning to develop dispensers or refillable systems for all its new products.
William Roam CEO Ali Murphy said: “At the heart of our business there has always been a focus on the environment and philanthropy.
“We balance that focus with market demand. So, as the market changes in our direction, we are thrilled at being able to offer a more complete alignment with our core values.”
