Worldwide Dispensers North America has fully commercialised the Mustang front push dispensing tap for Bag-in-Box and stand-up pouch applications.
According to the company, the Mustang front push dispensing tap’s low oxygen transmission rate (OTR) makes it the ideal solution for extending the shelf life of Bag-in-Box wine and other oxygen-sensitive products.
Food products are vulnerable to becoming deteriorated because of the reactions caused by oxygen.
The superior OTR performance of the Mustang dispensing tap does not allow oxygen to enter the package.
As a result, the oxidation reaction slows down, leading to an increased product life.
The design and ergonomic wings of the tap are said to make it easy for consumers to dispense, offering a uniform flow and controlled supply.

By GlobalDataThe Mustang tap has different variants, with customers having the option of going for with or without a tamper-evident (TE) cap or aluminium foil seal.
To make sure product integrity is maintained, the TE cap and foil seal blocks the tap in a closed position until removed by the end-user.
The company noted that the tap is available for several Bag-in-Box and stand-up pouch markets such as wine, edible oil, juice and water.
The product is set to be showcased at the upcoming Unified Wine and Grape Symposium, to be held later this month in Sacramento, California.
