Non-profit organisation and leaders of the UK Plastics Pact the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has launched a new citizen awareness campaign to combat plastic packaging.
WRAP said that the ‘Clear on Plastics’ campaign is aimed at clearing confusion over plastics and will share the latest insights on complex subjects such as plastic alternatives and bioplastics.
With the Clear on Plastics campaign, citizens will receive detailed information about the complex world of plastics and the environment, helping them to make their own informed choices.
Clear on Plastics will explain the role of plastic packaging in protecting products and demonstrate the benefits and drawbacks of alternatives.
The campaign will provide tips and advice on how citizens can reduce their plastics usage at home.
WRAP UK director Peter Maddox said: “When we set up The UK Plastics Pact we committed to uniting an entire supply chain with a common goal to keeping plastics in the economy and out of the environment.

The social media-led campaign Clear on Plastics will be backed by UK Plastics Pact members and supporters and other partners, such as local authorities.
Maddox added: “We’ve listened to the most common areas for confusion and have designed Clear on Plastics to address those, so that citizens are empowered to make their own informed decisions when it comes to plastics.”
Last month, WRAP released new guidelines on compostable plastic packaging to help businesses make informed decisions.
