US-based colour management solutions provider X-Rite has become the exclusive distributor of ColorCert software designed to monitor and manage colour across the packaging supply chain.
The software is now available with an X-Rite-branded edition sold exclusively by X-Rite, Esko and authorised dealers. ColorCert 2.0: X-Rite is helpful in simplifying colour communication from the artwork phase of projects through to separation, ink room and the pressroom.
X-Rite has partnered with Germany based Nelissen Consulting to launch the software, designed to offer complete closed loop reporting solutions, covering every aspect of colour definition and control in package production.
Nelissen Consulting founder and owner Christian Nelissen said ColorCert is considered to be key software for the statistical process control of colours in packaging.
"I’m convinced that by combining ColorCert with X-Rite’s industry leading solutions and leveraging the X-Rite and Esko global network, we will create a new de-facto standard for the communication and control of colour in the packaging industry," Nelissen added.
Printers, prepress, premedia and ink manufacturers can validate their own work in real time using the software. By integrating ColorCert into the centralised cloud ecosystem PantoneLIVE, brand owners can have a complete, end-to-end, closed-loop solution for monitoring and managing colour throughout the packaging supply chain regardless of producer, technology, substrate or geography.
